Why are we so passionate about Football?

The World Cup, Qatar 2022, has been going on since November 20 and will crown the new champion on December 18. Despite the numerous condemnations of the exploitation of foreign workers in the emirate, definitely legitimate but inconsistent with the silence that reigned when Russia organized its World Cup in 2018 (while bombing Syria and killing 20 thousand Syrian civilians in three years), the great success of the event is already enacted and calls for a boycott have failed.

In any case, calling for a boycott of major sports competitions in general and Football in particular has never been successful. For what game enthusiasts would boycott the most anticipated (and most funded and sponsored) event on the planet? How can we do without one of the few sources of euphoria and happiness that "resurrects" childhood and creates the most intense emotions for billions of people for almost a month?

Pourquoi le football passionne-t-il toujours autant ?

La coupe du monde de Football, Qatar 2022, se poursuit depuis le 20 novembre et couronnera le nouveau champion le 18 décembre. Malgré les nombreuses condamnations de l’exploitation des travailleurs étrangers dans l’émirat, légitimes mais inconsistantes avec le silence qui a régné quand la Russie a organisé sa coupe du monde en 2018 (tout en bombardant la Syrie et tuant 20 mille civils syriens en trois ans), le grand succès de l’événement est déjà acté et les appels au boycott ont échoué.

De toute façon, appeler à boycotter les grandes compétitions sportives en général et de football en particulier n’a jamais abouti ou réussi. Car quels passionnés du jeu pourraient boycotter l’événement le plus attendu (et le plus financé et sponsorisé) de la planète ? Comment se passer de l’une des rares sources d’euphorie et de bonheur qui « ressuscite » l’enfance et crée les émotions les plus intenses chez des milliards de personnes pendant presqu’un mois ?
